Chooses to improve presence in tier-three cities
Sun Microsystems had announced the launch of its operations in the city from Thursday. The Sun will commence operations though its partner, Locuz Enterprise Solutions Limited. The Sun is 24 year old firm which has spread its wings in 24 countries with a turnover of $13 billion. It plans to reach out a wider base of customers in segments such as education and research, government and manufacturing in addition to a large base of small and medium business in the city.
Regional Director-South of Sun Microsystems, Ganesh Mahabala speaking to media said that there was a large customer base located in regions other than Tier-one and Tier-two metros, which were recognizing the need for technology to run their business successfully. It identified 18 such Tier-Three cities and towns and will aggressively expand its presence in these regions.
