Death anniversary observed
The Personnel Welfare Department of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) on Wednesday paid rich tributes to Dr. BR Ambedkar on the occasion of his death anniversary. The General Manager of the Steel Plant MVR Sarma was the chief guest. General Managers PC Das (Corporate Planning and Personnel), TK Chand (Personnel), Steel Executives Association president MNNG Mastana Rao, Recognized Union (INTUC) Mantri Rajasekhar hailed Dr. Ambedkar as a lofty son of India and lauded his contributions for the upliftment of the poor.
Speaking on the occasion, the General Manager of NTPC Simhadri R. Venkateswaran said that it was right time to remember the contributions made by Dr. Ambedkar to the society. In Andhra University tributes were paid to Ambedkar. AU registrar R. Venkata Rao, professors, members of executive council and others at the BR Ambedkar College of Law, students and staff lauded the contributions made by him.
At Hindustan Zinc Limited, the General Manager K. Siva Prasad garlanded the statue of Ambedkar on its premises and observed a couple of minutes silence. Speaking on the occasion, he urged the gathering to inculcate his ideas and follow the path.
