Left parties to occupy Government land
In view of the Left parties likely to occupy Government land on Thursday, the police administration has imposed prohibitory orders under Section 144 at Gajuwaka, Pedagantyada, Arilova and some other places where they may try to occupy the Government land. The CPI and CPM called upon the party cadres to take over the lands to do justice to the weaker sections. They have already mobilized a large number of party workers.
Speaking at a party meeting, CPI District Secretary JV Satyanarayana Murty said that the Government turned a blind eye to the vast tracts of land encroached un by the influential people who possessed negligible patches of land. CPM district secretary Ch Narasinga Rao demanded that the State Government reclaim the assigned lands and distribute them to the poor.
