Award meant for Quality Circle concepts and excellence
Visakhapatnam Naval Dockyard has been awarded the ‘Quality Circle Forum of India (QCFI)-Canara Bank Award’ for this year for promoting Quality Circle concepts and excellence in the Quality Circle Movement. The award will be presented to it at the inaugural function of Convention of QCFI to be held at IIT Kanpur on December 20, 2006.
It recognizes work done in promoting quality circle concept in small-scale industries, public, private and service sectors organizations. The Naval Dockyard undertakes refit of ships, submarines and other yard craft and is committed in providing quality work and efficient solutions to keep the naval ships fully operational.
The Naval Dockyard has 437 quality circles in the yard, which participate in regional and national conventions and forums. Recently, the Naval Dockyard bagged gold medal in the International Convention of Quality Circle held at Bali in Indonesia.
