Locale says it is a great threat to environment
The Zindal Displaced Persons’ Welfare Society at a meeting resolved to oppose the setting up of the alumina refinery by the Zindal Group. The meeting also regretted that the Government in the name of Special Economic Zones was displacing farmers and their agricultural lands.
Y Sankara Rao, secretary of the Association said that the Government had already acquired 24,000 acres of farmland and in the process of acquiring 25,000 acres. The Zindal project is also a grave threat to the environment he said.
