CERATEC-2007 from January 8, 2007

The Visakhapatnam Steel Plant CMD Y. Siva Sagara Rao said that the Indian Ceramic Society, Indian Institute of Ceramics and All India Pottery Manufacturers’ Association would jointly organize a three-day seminar ‘CERATEC-2007’ in the city from January 8, 2007.

Siva Sagara Rao is the chairman of the organizing Committee said that seminar would mainly focus on the need to boost ceramic industry and help entrepreneurs face the challenges in the field. He said that it plays a crucial role in communications, electrical appliances, refractories and glass etc., and efforts were being made to develop the sector.

Andhra University (AU) Vice Chancellor and national advisory committee chairman L. Venugopal Reddy said that AU was planning to introduce ceramic courses in B.Tech from the next academic year.
