Narcotic drugs found
The Drugs Control Administration (DCA) detected narcotic drugs comprising ‘Spas Pokran’ capsules during raids conducted on six medical shops recently at Akkayyapalem, Gajuwaka, Paderu and Kailsapuram. Based on a tip off, the drug inspectors (Urban) Ravi Udaya Bhaskar and (rural) MN Chary rounded off the wholesale distributors and retail chemists involved in clandestine sales of ‘Dextropropoxhene Hydrogen Chloride’, popularly known as ‘SP’.
Uday Bhaskar speaking press persons on Tuesday, he said that medical shops like Sai Balaji Medicals and Ravi Medical Stores (Akkayyapalem), Pavan Medical Agencies (Kailsapuram) and KVR Medicals (Paderu) were selling thousands of those capsules without issuing bills.
He further said that the seized stock was deposited with the first additional chief metropolitan magistrate and the prosecution is going on. The investigation is going on under the supervision of DT Naik, Director General, Drugs and Copyrights.
