Property loss estimated to Rs. 25 lakhs
Nearly 120 houses were gutted due to short circuit at Mutcherla village in Anandapuram mandal on Sunday. However, no human loss was reported while the property loss is put to nearly Rs. 25 lakhs. According to local persons, nearly 800 people were residing in the huts and majority of them are labourers.
When they were out for work, the fire broke out in the hut of one person in the evening. It spread rapidly reducing all the huts to ashes. By the time, the police and Fire personnel reached the spot, all the houses gutted in fire.
