Significance of mother's milk highlighted

The World Breast Feeding Week celebrated by Community Food and Nutrition extension unit of Food and Nutrition Board of Ministry of Women and Child Development, concluded on Monday. The District Women and Child Development Agency Project Director AE Roberts said that infants should be fed with mother's milk for six months and can supplementary foods can be introduced along with mother's milk.

Regional Director B.Sowbhagyalakahsmi said that the message of breast feeding should be given to all in the family. During the week long programme, events like well baby shows, elocution, and essay writing and cooking competitions were held

A seminar on ‘Infant Milk Substitutes Act' Making it Known to People' was also concluded.
