Little Krishnas hog the limelight
Under the aegis of International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), Sri Krishna Janmashtami was celebrated with much fevour and gaiety. Little Krishnas and Gopikas dressed in colourful attires participated in various events held on the occasion.
The celebrations started from morning includes competitions like painting, Gita recitation, essay writing, poster making, fancy dress and other events took through out the day long. At midnight, the kalasabhishekam was performed with 108 kalasas and 51 lighted lamps. ISKCON conducted inter college debate and essay writing contest at BVK College in connection with the festival.
Krishna Mandir at Seethammadara North Extension Layout celebrated the day with a lot of fevour. The organizers conducted Sri Purushasooktha, Navagraha, and Sri Lakshmiganapathi homam in the morning. At midnight Krishna arti was performed and firecrackers were burst to mark the birth of Lord Krishna. Prizes were given away to the children who participated in the celebrations.
