Elaborate arrangements made

The administration has made elaborate arrangements for the second phase of Panchayat Raj pools in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam. In Narsipatnam Division of the Visakhapatnam district, elections will be held for the posts of 326 sarpanches and 3238 ward members.

The Police have identified 79 villages a problematic and 110 as trouble some. In view of the first phase of polling, the police made elaborate arrangements to avert any untoward incident during polling. 26 Circle Inspectors, 78 Sub Inspectors and 259 assistant sub Inspectors and 750 constables are being deployed in addition to 39 striking forces and 29 special striking forces.

In Srikakulam, elections for 271 sarpanch posts and 1484 ward members in Tekkali division. 91 sarpanches and 1899 ward members were elected unanimously. In Vizianagaram elections will be conducted for 4110 sarpanch posts and 3397 ward members.
