Promote the city as an Industrial hub

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) will organize the 6th Linkage 2006 at Hotel Taj Residency on September 1, 2006. Speaking to media on Wednesday, the CII Visakhapatnam Chapter Chairman and Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) Director HS Chhatwal said that the event was being organized to facilitate partnerships between large scale industries and Small and Medium Enterprises to trace emerging trends and promote the city as an Industrial hub in the State.

Speaking to press, he said Linkage programme witnessed the CII model purchase policy, establishment of AP Technology Promotion Development Centre, launching of UNIDO Subcontracting and Partnership Exchange (SPX) programme and building of relationships between SME and large industries.

Linkage 2006 will facilitate conducive environment for learning new approaches and develop appropriate institutional and individual capabilities to operate efficiently in the present globalized scenario and the buyer seller meet would upgrade SMEs into competitive manufacturers and suppliers of parts, components and related services to large corporations and MNCs. Nearly 200 SMEs would participate in the programme.
