Inauguration of Eye Donation camp at King George Hospital

Eye Donation Day to be observed on September 8

Prof. Dr.T.Ravi Raju, Superintendent of K.G.H. Inaugurated the WELCOME ARCH located inside the KGH in gate depicting the Eye Bank symbol.

A meeting was held in the lecture hall of Gynecology Dept. Dr. T.Ravi Raju, Supdt. of K.G.H was the Chief Guest who addressed the gathering and spoke about the importance of eye donation. He suggested that all medical & Nursing staff should cooperate with the Eye Bank personnel for its success so that more corneas become available for corneal transplantation surgeries, needed to treat victims of corneal blindness.

Prof. Dr. C.V.Rao, Principal of Andhra Medical College released the News Letter prepared for this purpose. Earlier Dr. I.Venkata Rao, Vice chairman of the VEBART TRUST welcomed the gathering & Dr. AVN Chetty presented the Secretaries report, gave details of Hospital Cornea Retrieval Programme(HCRP), and thanked the KGH staff for their excellent cooperation for the HCRP.

Prof. Dr.M.Mohana Rao, Superintendent of Regional Eye Hospital released the eye donation brochures.

Dr. S.V.Varalakshmi, Prof. of Gynecology and a host of Nursing Staff enthusiastically participated in the entire function.

Mr. Arisetti Sreeramamurthy, Trustee of Mohsin Eye Bank presented momentous to the Honoured Guests. The function ended with an Audiovisual Presentation on Eye Banking by Dr.AVN Chetty & Dr.I.Venkata Rao. Sri Kasim S.Mehdi, Mr.N.Ramachandra Rao, Mr.M.Raja Sekhar trustees of VEBART TRUST, and the manager Mr.P.V.Narayana, Grief Counselors Mr.M.Suresh and SVR Krishna helped to conduct the function successfully.
