Women are still discriminated

Inaugurating the 9th Formation Day celebrations of Forum of Women in Public Sector (WIPS) of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant Training and Development Centre on Wednesday, the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) Chairman and MD Y.Siva Sagar Rao said that women in India still face humiliation and discrimination when compared to those in the West.

Highlighting the challenging jobs being performed by ladies in general, he complimented Leena, a lady executive of VSP who operated a crane few years. To mark the occasion, he inaugurated the portal of WIPS and released the newsletter, 'Disha' of WIPS.

The East Coast Railway (ECR) Senior Divisional Personnel Officer S Patnaik congratulated the VSP management for providing an excellent working atmosphere for the working women in the plant. Top officials of the VSP have participated on the occasion.
