KR Prasad, Secretary of Central Election Commission inspected the Media Centre and the Election Control Room at the Collectorate. He said that the voters could get information about the election such as the location of the voting booth, constituency map, route map etc. by dialing 1717 or 2560000. Voters however have to tell their door number in order to get the information. He expressed satisfaction at the arrangements made and asked the people to cast their vote and exercise their franchise.
The Election Commission Secretary also checked up the arrangements at the Andhra University Gymnasium where the electronic voting machines and other election material for the 130 booths were distributed to their respective polling officials. The counting of the votes will be held on April 27, 2006, said that Returning Officer for the elections MB Kameswara Rao.
