Lakhs of devotees takes darshan of Lord in Nijaroopam

The annual Chandanotsavam ritual for Lord Varaha Lakshmi Nrusimha Swamy at Simhachalam was held with great devotion. Lakhs of pilgrims from various parts of the country took the darshan of the Lord who will be visible in the Nijarupam (real form).

Sri Poosapati Ashok Gajapathi Raji and his wife presented the sandalwood as per the traditions. They were the first to take the darshan at about 4:30 AM. Endowments Minister JC Diwakar Reddy presented the silk clothes on behalf of the State Government. Judge of Andhra Pradesh High Court B Prakash Rao, Principal Secretary - Endowments DC Rosaiah, MLAs, District Collector AK Singhal, Police Commissioner VSK Kaumudi, Temple Executive Officer V Sankar Reddy, Sri Tridandi Srimannarayana Chinna Jeeyar and others took the darshan of the Lord. The general public were allowed to have the darshan of the Lord in the Nijaroopam from 6:00 AM. With large crowds drawing to the temple, the temple authorities have restricted the queues three meters away from the main idol of the lord.

The Andhra Pradesh Road Transport Corporation ran over 150 special buses for the convenience of the pilgrims. Police personnel were deployed in various parts of the pilgrim town.
