Offers 6-months and 1-year programs in fashion design
Some do not show any interest in the colors and blends in the dress they wear. Others, particularly the women, show extreme interest in every aspect of their fashion. And if you have a zeal to catch up with the latest in the world of fashion or if you are just thinking to shop this weekend for some summer wear, you need to be at the Sanakalan 2006.
The five-day exhibition-cum-sale of the latest designs from the National Institute of Fashion Design (NIFD) was opened by its Director Sri Ram. The exhibition features tops, skirts, wrap arounds, kurtis and other garments and dress material showcasing both the Indian traditions and those in line with the western trends. The show also puts on fashion wear using traditional cotton material of the likes of Mangalagiri and Pochampalli. Speaking on the occasion, Sri Ram said that the fashion design institute now offers a 6-month and 1-year courses apart from a three-month course for those who have an interest for fashion design but not much time to spend. The institute is also offering courses on flower-making, soft toys, painting and garment making.
