Gowthu Latchanna is considered a man of the masses
He is a man of the masses. A man who cared for the farmers, laborers and the working class. Sardar Gowthu Latchanna, 97, passed at a private hospital following prolonged illness.
Representing the State Government, Commercial Taxes Minister Konathala Ramakrishna paid homage to the social leader. BJP Leader PV Chalapathi Rao reminded of the role Gowthu Latchanna in the Quit India Moment and late in the formation of the Andhra Pradesh state. CPM District Secretary Ch Narasiga Rao quoted Latchanna to be involved in almost all people movements in the North Coastal Andhra Pradesh. Vice Chancellor of Andhra University L Venugopala Reddy and Head of Department of Hindi, Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad, in their press releases, said that Latchanna's deeds were worth emulating.
