Felicitates former Vice Chancellor

Andhra University celebrated its 80th Formation Day. Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. L Venugopal Reddy garlanded the bust of the founder Vice-Chancellor Sri CR Reddy near the Central Administrative Building. Later, he laid the foundation stone for a modern centralized canteen building at the Silver Jubilee Grounds and inaugurated an Annex laboratory of the Department of Metallurgical Engineering.

A special function was held to felicitate former Vice-Chancellors of the University – Koneru Ramakrishna Rao, KV Ramana, Maddi Goapalakrishna Reddy and Rokkam Radha Krishna. AU Rector L Joga Rao, Registrar P Vijaya Prakash and others were present at the function.

The Vice Chancellor said that the University has taken up the task of making changes to the syllabus of various courses so as to be in line with the trends in the education system. He said that the University has signed up Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with foreign university and with various Corporate Multi National Companies (MNC)s. Former Rector Prof. A Prasanna Kumar who is the guest of honor for the function said that Andhra University is the only University in the country to put two Nobel laureates from the country – Rabindranath Tagore and Sir CV Raman on the same dais.
