Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (VUDA) has cautioned the public against purchasing open space areas in the city layout. In a statement on Tuesday, VUDA pointed out that ten percent of the land was earmarked as open space to provide common utilities like parks for residents of such colonies and said sale and purchase of open spaces in layouts are highly irregular and contrary to layout rules.

Open spaces are not private property and no permission will be granted by any Government agency to take up construction activity in open spaces.
