The Local Chapter of the Computer Society of India will organize a seminar on ‘Occupational Health and Safety aspects of Computer users’ on September 24.
Considering the widespread use of computers as a business tool by IT professionals and the various sections including students, teachers and housewives for gaining knowledge and entertainment and the tremendous increase in the number of hours, computer related health problems are on the rise. According to the chapter Chairman and Director (Finance) of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, PK Bishnoi told reporters on Monday that the topic selected for the seminar is a little different from the programmes on technical knowledge. He said, the seminar is intended to address the targeted sections to help overcome frequently faced health problems.
Experts in ophthalmology and neurology, orthopedics and ergonomics would address the seminar, he said.
