Press Academy of Andhra Pradesh Chairman D.Amar said on Saturday that the journalists could continue to gather information on the same lines as before with the difference now being that they could do it as a matter of right. Speaking a pilot workshop for journalists on the ‘Right to Information Act-2005’, he asked them to come out with suggestions on how best journalists could make use of the provisions of the Act as well as help society in utilizing it. Jwla Narasimha Rao clarified that the Act called for providing information to the seeker within 30 days but it did not mean it would not be available immediately or much earlier. Hyderabad Press Club president A.Suresh Kumar and APUWJ secretary Y.Narendra Reddy were present on the occasion.
