As a part of decennial celebrations beginning from Monday, the Rotary Club of Visakha Port City has decided to give a face lift to some municipal schools which are in a dilapidated condition. The Club president K Venkateswara Rao and decennial celebration committee chairman Ch.Suryarao told the press on Sunday that they had spoken to Municipal Commissioner, N.Srikanth and offered him assistance in the renovation of some of the dilapidated buildings and provision of uniforms to the students.
They said that the club had sponsored computers, furniture and other material worth Rs.12.66 lakhs from Seva Nilayam training centre for under privileged girls. The institute located at the St.Joseph’s Convent School trains poor girls for taking up maidservant jobs and nursing elderly and sick persons.
