The KGH Superintendent M.Ganeswararao and Head of the Department of Radiotherapy CN Gopalakesri will visit Canada on a ten day mission to raise funds for augmenting facilities in the premier referral hospital of North Andhra. The two doctors will be in Canada from October 21 to 30 on an invitation of MDS Nordion – a cobalt therapy unit manufacturer. Dr.Ganeswara Rao said on Monday that with the Rs.2 crores sanctioned by the Centre, they were planning to set up second cobalt therapy unit in KGH within a year.
He said that the Hospital handles over one hundred cases for radiotherapy. The two member team will also meet the representatives of Telugu Cultural Association of Canada, Andhra Cultural Association of Ottawa, Telugu Association of North America and American Telugu Academy. The hospital also released a brochure on the existing facilities and future requirements on Monday.
