To mark the World Sight Day, Sankar Foundation Eye; Hospital organized a special screening camp for pre school children at Queen Mary’s Girls’ High School on Thursday. Inaugurating the camp, VUDA Chairman, PSN Raju complimented the foundation for its service in providing eye care particularly to children. He appreciated the efforts taken by anganwadi workers to mobilize street children for the camp. ICDS Project Director, AE Robets said that by coordinating with the Sankar Foundation the department had been able to arrange screening for thousands of children in the city.
The team of doctors have examined nearly three hundred children and selected 50 of them for providing spectacles and special treatment. Foundation trustee and chief executive K.Manimala, and other officials participated.
