The District Collector, Praveen Prakash has said that in the event of RTC strike, all necessary alternative arrangements were made. In a press conference on Monday, he said security has been tightened in the 9 depots and 21 bus stations in the district. He said that during the strike period five hundred to seven hundred buses will ply. All arrangements towards this were already made. He said that under the supervision of the DEO and Deputy Transport Commissioner, 134 buses are ready. He said that 82 applications have been received for driver posts and they will be paid Rs.150 per day and in the event that the strike is called off, the Government will pay Rs.1000.
The services of home guards for the posts of Conductors will be utilized. He requested the public to cooperate with the administration during the strike period. Control room have been established for the benefit of the commuters phone numbers in the Collector’s Office1077, 2564426, RTO office 2559777, RTC Regional Manager’s office 2745462, 9848171955.The City Police Commissioner VSK Kaumudi cautioned that stern action will be taken against those who violate the rules under ESMA and those who cause inconvenience or violent attitude towards the properties will be arrested without any warrant. For this, power have been given to all the police constables and from their department, four hundred home guards services will be utilized as conductors.
