Visakhapatnam, October 9 2005
The All India Trade Union Congress has demanded the Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority to take action against alleged violation of norms specified in the Coastal Regulation Zone I notification by a software company. In a press release, the AITUC district council general secretary, M.Ananda Rao said the roads and other construction activities were being carried out by Miracle Software Company in Madhurawada.
Referring to the report submitted to the VUDA by the National Institute of Oceanography on the CRZ notified areas and ‘no development zones’ , he said VUDA and the authorities concerned were aware of the fact that the work being carried out by the software company fell in CRZ-I area. He said that VUDA should demolish all unauthorized constructions in the notified areas to safeguard the environment.
