The State Government has finalized the road map to develop Visakhapatnam into a model district. A comprehensive action plan was being prepared as per the directive of the Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy, Commercial Tax Minister Konathala Ramakrishna said in a conference of MROs and MDOs on Tuesday. He said that the Chief Minister also prepared a clear road map to develop the State on all fronts and alleged that the development took a back seat during the TDP regime.
He said that the Chief Minister was committed to reviving ‘Indiramma Rajyam’ so that there would be pro poor approach to bridge the gap between haves and have nots. The Minister said that the Congress Government was investing Rs.46,000 crores in Polavaram and other irrigation projects.
The District Collector Praveen Prakash said that all the officials strive for achieving a good rank in the implementation of Indira Prabha, dairy promotion programme and bank linkage to self-help groups. He said that projecting Visakhapatnam as a hub for garment units, as several projects were in the pipeline in the garment city and apparel park and explained in detail efforts to train Girijans and other on fashion technology.
