Visakhapatnam, November 6, 2005
The Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority is offering training courses in building activities through the Hyderabad based National Academy of Construction. Youth from the fishermen community desirous of participating in these programmes have to submit their applications by November 10 according to VUDA Vice Chairman G. Venkataram Reddy.
The courses will begin in December 1, 2005. Educated unemployed fishermen youth would be provided skill training in plumbing, carpentry, masonry, bar bending and electrician courses.
VUDA will sponsor 80 candidates for these courses. The duration of the training will be three months and the course fee is Rs.12,000. Each of the trainees would also be given a tool kit worth Rs.2,000 free of cost. VUDA will also assist the youth in establishing self-employment units or finding placement on successful completion of the training program.
