VizagNews.com - Navy Mela 2005 starts on November 24

Visakhapatnam, November 23, 2005

Navy Mela, one of the attractions of the ongoing Navy Week celebrations by Eastern Naval Command will be inaugurated at 4.30pm on Thursday at the Fleet Sports Ground near Pipe line Junction by the Director Naval Project Visakhapatnam, Rear Admiral NS Nain. The mela showcasing various activities of the Navy and popular among the Vizagities will be open to public after the inauguration till 10pm on the day and from 1pm to 10pm on Friday according to a spokesman of ENC.

On Saturday and Sunday, the Navy Mela will be open from 10am to 10pm. Skydiving by Indian Navy Sky Diving team would be performed at the mela at 4.30pm and the amusement park which is part of the Navy Mela would house many attractions.

The Naval ships will be open for visit by organized groups of school children from 9am to 5pm on Friday and for the general public on Saturday and Sunday. Visitors to ships should not carry handbags, briefcases, transistors, tape recorders, camera or any baggage as these would not be permitted inside the Naval Dockyard and also cell phones would not be allowed for security reasons.
