A software company which has its work centre at Bhogapuram mandal in Vizianagaram district has been accused of cheating youth after promising them with overseas placements. Speaking at a press conference on Friday, PRCh.Raju, father of one of the victims said that the company had recruited B.Tech, M.sc. and MCA graduated with the promise of placing them overseas after short term training at their work centre at Bhogapuram.
He alleged that the company had collected Rs.50,000 as advance along with the passport and original certificates. His daughter and others from the batch, who were not given placement so far, demanded return of their original certificates so that they could apply for jobs on their own. But the company management was allegedly demanding Rs.3 lakhs to return the original certificates. He said that a complaint was lodged with Three Town Police as the company has an office in Lawsons Bay Colony but no action has been taken so far. Bahujan Samaj Party district president SA Raju who was present at the press conference said that a representation would be given to the Passport Officer, District Collector and Police Commissioner seeking action.
