Visakhapatnam, November 4, 2005
The open house was organized by the Visakhapatnam Apartment Resident’s Welfare Association and was well attended by representatives of nearly 100 apartment complexes. President of the VARWA Ch LN Sastry presided. The participants said that there were many faults in construction of apartment buildings and alleged that the builders and the Town Planning wing of the Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation were only turning the situation into worse.
The Secretary of VARWA A. Suresh said that the Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation has failed to provide the basic amenities in full measure to the apartment residents though this was one segment that would always pay taxes without fail. Supply of drinking water and better sanitation were among the immediate problems of the residents of Apartments. The VARWA decided to form area wise committees to strength the organization.
