Visakhapatnam, May 9, 2005
The Communist Party of India (M) has urged the Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy to drop the proposal to sell prime lands in the city to private companies for a song.
In a letter addressed to the Chief Minister on Monday, the CPI(M) State secretariat member Ch.Narasingarao and its city committee secretary said that the Government decision could not be justified as the poor slum dwellers in the city seeking shelter were denied housing within the city and dismissed to the outskirts through the go No.90.
On VAMBAY scheme clearly said that the housing could be provided at the places where the slums were located. And if necessary by constructing ground floor plus two storeys.
