The new Vice Chancellor L.Venugopala Reddy who took over charge as Vice Chancellor of Andhra University could succeed in calling of strike by more than one year old AU employees within 24 hours.

The agitation ended on a peaceful note with Prof.Reddy giving a soft drink to the chairman of the JAC Surappadu in the presence of the Visakhapatnam II MLA S.Rangaraju, The Chairman of AP Technology Services K.P.Reddy and the former VUDA Chairman Y.Mariyadas at noon. The Vice Chancellor assured the agitators that he would look into their problems and resolve them in a phased manner.
