Land acquired by VSEZ for expansion

Entire stretch of 360 acres under the disposal of the zone has been developed

The Visakhapatnam Special Economic Zone decided in principle to acquire 200 acres for expanding the zone at Duvvada. A formal request has already been made to the State Government for allotment of land. The response from the investors is so encouraging that at present hardly any space is left for leasing out to the entrepreneurs. The entire stretch of 360 acres under the disposal of the zone has been developed in three phases.

The gem and jewellery complex, which is the major foreign exchange earner is one of the imposing landmarks in the zone. The Lieutenant Governor of Pondicherry MM Lakhera who visited the zone early this week was very much impressed with its functioning. He said than he would try to replicate the success story of VSEZ in Pondicherry where the Centre had sanctioned an SEZ
