The Deputy Mayor, Malla Appala Raju and five others were arrested on Wednesday for alleged involvement in the brutal attack on a media person. The Journalist, MV Sekhar of Sri Devi Vision was video graphing the eviction of some poor families in HB Colony in the city on Tuesday when an ex-convict hit him at the back of his head allegedly. The Circle Inspector of III Town Police V.Bhima Rao said that a manhunt had been launched to nab Venkataramana who had earlier served a seven-year term for murder.
Apart from the Deputy Mayor and five others arrested and produced in the court on Thursday. The Circle Inspector said that preliminary investigations proved the criminal conspiracy and involvement of six persons leading to the arrest.
