The Andhra Pradesh State Housing Corporation will build twenty thousand houses for fishermen in the tsunami hit areas Speaking to reporters on Sunday, the APSHC Chairman D.Rajeswararao said that the Centre had sanctioned 20,000 houses in the first phase against their plea for 40,000 houses.
The cost of each unit would be Rs. 40,000. He said that the Centre had already released Rs. 50 crores for the project. The beneficiaries would be sanctioned a loan of Rs. 17,500 after their individual contribution of Rs. 2500/-. He said the selection of beneficiaries had been completed in consultation with the officials of the Fisheries Department. Work would begin soon.
