The Directors of a Computer Institute and two employees of Andhra University were among the ten persons arrested on Saturday for their alleged involvement in preparing and selling fake degree certificates of Andhra University. The racket was busted by after a report telecast by a TV Channel and the subsequent complaint by an employee of Regency Cell Centre at the III town Police Station.
The arrested included KV Satyanarayana Rao, director of Cat Academy and placements, PV Bhaskar, son of a Professor K.Nagabhushanam and S.Bapiraju, clerical staff of Andhra University and M.Govindaraju, owner of a computer shop.
The Circle Inspector, P.Prakasa Rao, arrested the gang members. According to the DCP, Lakshmi Reddy, and the ACP (crime) BD Patro said that following the clues provided by the TV channel, they laid a trap and arrested the ten-member gang along with blank certificates, fake stamps, 11 cell phones and Lancer Car.
