The master list candidates of Visakhapatnam Port Trust continued their indefinite fast in front of the Collectorate, despite seven of them being rushed to the hospital.

Efforts of the VPT officials to make the candidates call off their agitation failed as the later refused to accept the condition that talks would be held only after the protest was stopped.

They called off 240 day protest five months ago on the assurance of the Collector, the VPT Chairman and some leaders that the issue will be settled in a couple of months. But no action was taken.
