The District Collector, Praveen Prakash made it very clear to Panchayat secretaries on Monday that disciplinary proceedings against 150 of them would be considered only if they committed in writing that they would stay at their places of work.

Panchayat secretaries launched an agitation demanding that the Collector withdraw the suspension orders, organized a procession in the city and later conducted a dharna in front of the Collectorate as Spanda was going on. They refused to talk to the District Panchayat Officer and the Administrative Officer of the Collectorate.

However, the District Collector was firm on his stand.
