The CPI (M) organized a siege the Collectorate protest program on Monday demanding that the Government provide house sites and distribute ration cards to the poor and needy.
A large number of workers and supports including women led by the party's State Secretariat member, Ch.Narasinga Rao, the district unit secretary, MVS Sarma gathered in front of the Collectorate and prevented any one from entering the premises. The TDP also organized a demonstration against the decision to hold indirect election to the posts of civic body chief at the gate of Collectorate .Due to this, the Spanda Programme was affected.
