The Executive Council of Andhra University has resolved to revert to four colleges since there is no assent of the Chancellor, the Andhra Pradesh Governor for the formation of additional colleges carved out from the existing one.

The decision was taken at the Executive Council meeting on Sunday, which was presided by the Vice Chancellor; L.Venugopal Reddy.

The Council has decided to initiate steps for getting Indian Institute of Technology status to Andhra University of Engineering.
