A cargo vessel rammed into another ship berthed in the harbor on Friday morning. Due to quick response from Visakhapatnam Port Trust prevented the latter from sinking.
A ship of Myanmar has been unloading its cargo of timer logs weighting 2178 tonnes since Wednesday at the West Quay 1 berth when a Shipping Corporation of India vessel carrying 46,224 tones of cooking coal hit the ship on its side while making its turning basic to reach its berth.
A team of Naval authorities examined the damaged caused the ship.
