Eminent scholars from various parts of the country have come to a conclusion that Astrology is a science. Sri Madhura Krishna Murty Sastry from Rajahmundry has called for in depth studies and research in astrology to prove it a science beyond doubt.
In a seminar ‘Is Astrology a Science?’ organized by the International Council of Astrological and Occult Studies on its 20 th anniversary on Sunday, he said that the four Vedas, 18 puranas and 64 kalas presented enough avenues of employment for Indians. He said that the 512 branches in Astrology offer various employment opportunities like Engineering, and Specialties and Super-specialties in Medicine.
Astrology consisted of the ‘Siddantha’, Muhurtha and Samhita and only a thorough study helped to master the subject. Noted astrologer B.R.Rao said in introductory remarks said astrology was practiced since long under different branches. President of the Council, M.P.Singh, presided. Astrologers Rajender Indoria, P.Gopalakrishna Murty, Yuddanapudi Ayyannapantu and other astrologers participated in the seminar.
