The Chief Minister, YS Rajasekhara Reddy said on Monday that the capacity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant would be doubled soon. Addressing industrial workers at Sheila Nagar as part of Rajiv Nagara Bata, he promised all help to expand the capacity of the plant to earn more profit. He said that the State Government would put pressure on the Centre to clear the proposal which was now under consideration by various ministries. He also promised to look into the revival of the Hindustan Shipyard and BHPV.
The Chief Minister, YS.Rajasekhara Reddy on Monday formally launched the project and broke International of Singapore. The ceremony was held at a five star hotel. The project involved construction of 25,000 dwelling units in 50 housing projects. The Chief Minister said that the first phase would involve 2000 flats at a cost of Rs. 150 crores.Mr.Goh said that his company was now involved in six projects in the State and the Madhurawada project was the largest. The CEO of Jurong India, Rao Munukutla, the Vice Chairman of VUDA, D.Vara Prasad also spoke.
