Commercial Tax Minister inaugurated the crushing work

The Tummapala sugar factory in Anakapalle of the district was on Sunday reopened and crushing began. The Commercial Tax Minister, Konatala Ramakrishna, who inaugurated the crushing work, described the re-opening of the unit as a VV Ramana Sugar Factory as historic and said it was a New Year gift to the farmers and workers. Out of the Rs. 60 crores sanctioned for the re-opening, Rs. 1.1 crores had been released for the repairs, the Minister said.

The complimented the workers who had put in hard effort and completed the overhaul at a cost of Rs.30 lakhs. The Minister said there were plans to increase the capacity from the present 50 tonnes to 2500 tonnes in the next two years.
