People to observe Tuesday as 'Black Day'
Praja Spandana, a forum for common cause and promotion of public interest has called upon people to observe Tuesday as 'Black Day' by participating in a fast at the Old Central Prison site near the Ambedkar Circle to protest against the reported move to lay the foundation stone for an Imax theater and a commercial complex at the site by the Chief Minister during his visit. The President of Praja Spandana, CS Rao, said the decision to have the theatre and the commercial complex was in a blatant reversal of the announcement of the Commercial Taxes Minister, Konatala Ramakrishna on 18th October 04that more than 20 acres of the land would be for lung space. He said that the elected representatives were not only silent but indifferent in view of the rash decision, Praja Spandana was left with no opinion but to launch direct action.
