Writ petition filed by the president of Praja Spandana
The High Court has stayed Government’s proposal to utilize the 30 acre land in the heart of the city vacated by the Central Prison for creating an I-Max Theatre, Food courts etc., and widening the roads on either side of the site. The court pronounced this order on Thursday on a writ petition filed by the president of Praja Spandana a voluntary organization. The court posted the case for further hearing on 28th March.
It may be recalled that the prison land worth Crores of rupees is lying idle ever since the Central Prison is shifted to the city outskirts.
