Work would be taken up within two months
More than ten thousand Central Government employees in the city participated in a huge rally demanding the setting up of VI Central Pay Commission and grant of interim relief immediately. The rally commenced from the Visakhapatnam Railway Station and culminated in a public meeting at the RTC Complex. Employees f Railways, Defence, Post, RMS, All India Radio, Income Tax, Customs, Central Excise, Geological Survey of India and other Central Government employees took part in the rally organized under the banner of Central Government Employees' Coordination Committee led by its chairperson D.Shaleel and the convener KBR Prasad.
The rally was part of the five day agitation in response to the nation wide call. Ms.Shaleel warned the Government that if it did not respond to the demands, the employees would be forced to go on an indefinite strike. The leaders of all unions will meet in New Delhi on 17th February to highlight the issue and decide the future course of action.
