Apparently troubled with mounting debts

A youth who failed to get a job in the Port despite his name being in the Master list of the Port consumed pesticide and died last night. J.Ramakrishna of Gorapllai was hopeful of getting job in the port as his father who was a khalasi had taken voluntary retirement on health grounds nine years ago.

The Master list is maintained to accommodate children of deceased and those who retire on health grounds. The Port administration has not been taking steps to fill these vacancies for the past few years according to candidates. Ramakrishna also worked as an auto rickshaw driver for sometime. He was apparently troubled with mounting debts and indifferent attitude of the Port Management
